Has Hell Frozen Over?

I never thought I would ever put anything from Howard Stern on my blog (truth: I have never listened to his show). But someone told me about this clip and I had to see if it was true. Don't worry, this clip has nothing off-color or the kind of thing that made Stern famous as a shock jock.

this reminds me of the conversation I had with one of my sisters in Christ (who happens to be black) about the upcoming election. She supports Obama but doesn't believe in abortion, stem cell, same sex marriage etc. It can be very frustrating.

I know a brother in Christ who is black who is taking a beating from his family for not supporting Obama. His father points to my friend's daughter and says that electing Obama will give her hope. But my friend says this, "You cannot elevate a people by immorality." he is referring to abortion, of course.

In all fairness, it goes both ways. I've been told straight out by other whites they would never vote for Obama because they would never vote an "N word". And then my husband and I were berated by his heavily conservative family because we were appalled by Bush, don't agree with McCain, and are voting for Obama. So, you know, it really is a two-way street.

And- the same people who were calling Obama an "N" couldn't name one issue that made them want to vote for McCain. I asked for specifics- and they didn't know a THING about the issues. So there you have it.

It seemed pretty intolerant and elitist to me to focus on the color of the opponent's skin as the main reason for not voting for him.
