At This Historic Time

For the first time in American History we have a black candidate for president from a major political party. For this, we should celebrate. This says more about the nation than it does about Obama. This nation which, ironically, has been branded as the "U. S. of KKK A." and described as "The earth's biggest sin" from men in the pulpit of Obama's X-church, is not as racist, perhaps, as such rhetoric would suppose.

I applaud the American people for how far we have come to correct the hatred and bigotry of the past. This nomination of Barak Obama says much good about America.

Now the test for America is to see if we can see past color and live out Martin Luther King's dream. By that I mean, King helped us to share his dream that one day in our nation we would judge a man, "Not on the color of his skin, but on the content of his character." With this in mind, let's examine Obama's character. Does he have the character to be president? Your thoughts?
